Patient privacy and data security.

What about patient privacy?

For any patient to have their data uploaded into myPathology they need to provide informed signed consent electronically. This is simple to do – we suggest watching our brief explainer video.

Patients control their data.

  • They can view all their data through our patient portal.

  • They can delete all their data at any time simply by signing a ‘delete data request’ electronically.

  • They can sign up again simply by completing a new consent form and their data will be uploaded again.

  • They can see which healthcare providers have been viewing which results and when.

myPathology is a fully tracked, so it records all users’ activity.

What about data security?

All patient data storage and security is the responsibility WAPH. WAPHA already securely stores and manages highly sensitive medical data, and employs industry standard data security procedures and policies, which are regularly reviewed and updated.

myPathology has undergone multiple external independent cyber security reviews and penetration testing and each time been found to be a safe and secure system.

Kabisa Medical Pty Ltd will not keep or have access to any patient medical data. There maybe rare instances where the system engineers will have temporary access to data for the sole purpose of maintaining and running the myPathology data platform.
